1. Visit a retirement home and reach out to the elderly. “Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity. Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need.” [1 Tim 5:1-3] 2. Seek the homeless. Start a homeless ministry for your youth. Volunteer at a homeless shelter. “Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter— when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? …if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness..” [Isaiah 58:7-8] 3. Reach out to your classmates or coworkers. Talk to those who usually keep to themselves. “Love your neighbor as yourself.” [Mark 12:31] 4. Volunteer with your local pregnancy resource center. Go to an abortion clinic (such as Planned Parenthood) and pray and pass out information from the pregnancy resource center providing other options. "Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow." [Isaiah 1:17] 5. Reach out to the younger youth at your church. Start a small group. "Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood." [Acts 20:28] 6. Visit the sick that are part of your community. "I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” [Matthew 25:36] Tell us about your experiences. Send us a facebook message, pictures or a video. We will post them on the website and possibly show them at the conference. |
